  1. I am brand new here and pretty new to capturing video as well. Basically the background is that for some projects I've recently began recording streaming videos. Up until today I never had any problems (only been doing this a week). However, I made a number of recordings today and when I went to review the files all of the video recorded flawlessly but the files play no audio. I checked repeatedly and my recorder indicated that it was picking up audio. However, each file has the same issue. Great video, no audio. I browsed some threads here and everyone said to provide mediainfo so I am attaching it below:

Now I will fully admit, I have next to very little clue of what most of this means. I have tried playing the file in Quicktime and VLC, but still no audio. Should I be encouraged that it does have audio information in the mediainfo? I saw some threads that said if there was no audio information then there simply was no audio. Are there any suggestions on how to possibly "fix" and recover the audio. I don't really have the option to simply re-record the video since today's projects involved live streaming video - which up to this point I still had no issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try open the video/audio with an audio editor like goldwave or audacity(add the ffmpeg plugin to open video directly).

Or extract the audio with mymp4boxgui first and then open it in the audio editor.

It should look something like this if it contains audio, http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/74/Pantallazo-Audacity.png

The audio bit rate looks a little low 3K? I am not an expert but I would expect 128k? for mp4?

    my recorder
It helps to solve these problems if people supply details like what is my recorder ? then we can help find the issue.

This is becoming a tend here in the forum of late and a few are starting to become impatient.

2 hour video with those bitrate's, size ... and oh my ... variable video frame rate ... Id burn it.

Ok you might want to read this post

    Down below is about virtualdub.

You'll probably need to install AAC ACM Codec (win 7, right click bat file to run with admin privileges or it wont install) and x264 VfW.

Once loaded set audio to full processing mode ... then audio conversion, set to 44.1, 16bit, stereo ... then audio compression to none (pcm) ... then File > save wav.

See if the audio plays ... for 2 hours
