removing text from avi file

hi,
i had a movie file downloaded which is showing the up-loader's name (about 5 secs)..
how can i remove it ,i don't want to remove or fill color to the frame( which will affect movie & subtitle timing)
is it possible to do it..

Let me warn you that you will not get any help here on how to edit your obviously ill gotten gains. The image you uploaded clearly shows that the movie is pirated.

Sure, I'll help him. Cut out between the keyframes the part with the logo. Reencoode it using a logoremover to get rid of it. Then stick the reencoded part back into the movie. It'll leave a big blur where the name was before. Or cover it with a black or blur rectangle.

or even simpler just cut out the 5 seconds at the very beginning which obviously has nothing to do with the movie.

Yes, but he specifically mentioned not wanting to just cut it out as that would mess up the subs. Left unsaid is the fact that it's easy to retime the subs, and if he doesn't need the beginning your suggestion is the way to go.
