  1. Im new to using CCE 2.62 for encoding but if anyone can give me the lowdown on some quick setups I would appreciate it.

Im encoding AVI files to MPEG for internet downloadable delivery I want to be able to compress these files and maintain great to acceptable picture quality but at the same time want to save on bandwidth costs. Any suggestions on settings? Ive got an idea of where I want to start with the specs but need additional input and comment.

    Thank you

The main power of CCE is the multipass encoding. It is fast and deals with low bitrates very well...if you are looking at sqeezing even more bitrate, look into using AVISynth of TMEPGEnc to do IVTC on the video (if your source is film), then you will gain %20 on bandwidth....

TMPGEnc has multipass encoding as well. So do many other encoders.

The main advantage of CCE is that it is 4 times faster than TMPGEnc.

The other main advantage is that the video encodied by CCE will be much higher quality, for high motion scenes, than that encoded by TMPGEnc. In my tests, which involved fairly short high motion scenes, the CCE MPEG stream encoded at 4Mbps was better than a TMPGEnc stream at 8Mbps.
