  1. I,ve been using virtualdub and tmpgenc to cut and convert movies for a few months now and in the beginning everything was oke but then we had a problem with our computer and we had to format it. After we did that every time i open a movie in virtualdub it gives the message "virtualdub has detected an improper audio encoding in the source avi file......etc. and when i convert the movie the audio is really out of sync (+- 3sec.). I think it might has to do something with the divx codec but i don't know for sure. I've tried a few things but i'm kind of a rookie when it comes to computers so if anyone could help me that would be great!!!

    thanks, yoost

I have the same problem all the time.
In my case it usually helps, if i convert sound from avi to wav with virualdub and then select saved wav file as audio file when converting with TMPGEnc. See guide under "convert" section.
