Hi all,
Well ive tried most everything and i still cant capture audio. I can capture video from both my cam corder and a VHS tape but for some reason the audio is never present. Even when i just watch the tape via Digital VCR i cant even hear the audio. I should be able to hear the audio, right? Ive double checked the line in setup and have installed the latest drivers (dated 20 March) but it still doesnt work.
Ive read a majority of the other posts dealing with similar issues but nothing i try seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Aaragon

Im using the software that came with the card. In particular TV 7.1
Im getting ready to try Premiere, maybe that will work. -
Do you have the plug going from the AIW card to your sound card? They are not connected internally but rather by a cord that branches into several plugs. One of them is an headphone type plug that goes into sound card. Sorry if this is too obvious but I thought I would mention it just in case.

Thanks for replying guys. I verified the connection between the video card and the sound card and it is correct. Also, Im using Direct X 8.1.

I had a similar problem with my ATI AIW 128 Pro when I had to reload WIN 98. No sound, checked connections, settings, everything I could think of. Sat back and said "I'm missing something" went back in and started checking everything again, even turned the items off and back on, and then I found that under the audio control panel that the WAV setting was in the center, I set it to max and guess what, I had audio again. Don't know if this will help, but here is something you can do.
Get up, go do something else for at least an hour to take your mind off the problem, sit back down and go step by step through the directions and settings, you will probably find something you missed. -
Aaragon,
I have the All in Wonder 128 Pro AGP. When you first install the card make sure the audio feed is set to Line-In.
Additionally, in the Windows control panel under "Play Control" make sure the mute box is NOT checked.
Finally, in the Windows control panel under "Record Control" make sure the Line-In box "IS" selected.
These settings are under the Advanced Button. You are probably just one click away from having it all set correctly.
These settings I'm refering to are after you double click on "Sound and Audio Devices" in the main Contrl Panel.

This may not help as I am probably the only one in the world that connects the audio in to my cd rom. So intact I use cd not line in.

Follow up:
Well I went into control panel ---> sound , audio devices. When i checked the Audio Tab and looked under "sound recording" the default device is my Sound Blaster :ive Wave device. I dont know if its relative to the topic but thought id let you know.
Now, when I reran the sound initialization wizard, i made sure that "line in" was in the the drop down menu. Under that there is a box that allows you to select a channel. Its set to channel 4 and grayed out so that i cant change it. Could that be a problem?
Heres my system info:
PIII 750
256meg
60 Gig IBM 7200rpm ATA100
ATI AIW Radeon 32megDDR
Windows XP Pro
Sound Blaster Live Value
Thanks for the help guys, hopefully we can get this figured out
