After reading the various posts, it was claimed that the 2006 cards could still capture PAL-60. The card comes with v9.12 of ATI MMC and there is a tv setting for PAL-60.

However, when I try to play/capture a NTSC video - using scart from the VCR and then RCA to the ATI connectors - I get a picture and in colour but it is very un-steady and the visual effect is like the vertical hold is way out as there is a black bar 2/3rds way down the screen and then some more of the picture which rips at the top and along the edge.

Standard PAL videos are ok in the the ATI.

Has anyone had this problem or offer some suggestions.

    Thanks.

I would expect the ati want's you to capture it as nstc for nstc , and not as pal .

That vertical hold , and other anomalies , indicate you need to switch the capture program over for nstc capture .

Convert the frame rate to pal later .

After doing some more 'research' it seems that I am not alone with this issue.

Seems like that older cards with other chips and agp were ok but not newer models.

And it's hardly a high priority matter for ATI to fix.
