  1. Hello, i downloaded breaking bad s04 e01 and when i click on the file - properties to see what kind of file it is, it just says file. I tried to play it with dix and it doesnt work, it works with Windows media player after i get some kind of message that says it doesnt recgonize file or something but it can still play it.

But i want it to play it on PS 3 so how do i do that because it doesnt recgonize it either ?

Please help me. Sorry for the stupid question.

How do i find out what kind of file it is ?

Well, WMP is a piece of crap so the fact that it doesn't play the file means nothing. You could try installing VLC, which is free. If it's playable, VLC should be able to play it.

I wouldn't discount the possibility that the file is corrupted and won't ever play. If you got it off some torrent site you should be aware that all it takes is one person to have a problem with their hard drive after getting the file and they'll start sending out a corrupted version to everyone. It's not common but it does happen. Also, Hollywood has been known to deliberately place corrupted versions of files on torrent sites so that could be going on.

I 2nd the mediainfo suggestion. d/l and run it on the file in question. export results as a text and then upload (attach) it here and perhaps one of the gurus here can look at it and take it from there. also, as jman98 suggests/suspects, try a different player and/or it may be corrupted.
