  1. Has anyone ever managed to use SUPER to convert a file--any file--to a DVD standard compliant file? Everytime I attempt it I always get a message telling me the input file is using an incompatible codec and the resulting output file will not have .ifo and .bup files and will only play on my PC which rather defeats the purpose.

NOBODY who is smart and knowledgeable use SUPER. The author of SUPER is collecting all your personal data as you use SUPER and once you install SUPER it messes up your windows for good!

SUPER doesn't work anyway as you have found out!

  4. Well I'm using an older version of SUPER and have never had an issue doing anything else with it only what I posted above has caused issues. Converting between other formats has always worked swimmingly. Apparently no one yet has an answer to my question.

Even so I wasn't aware that any version of SUPER had fallen out of favour.

Is it a warning or just an information ?

I have a version of Super c2007 which I can pursuade to make a dvd compliant vob - it just gives me 2 options after clicking encode either use original file name or standard vts.. filenaming.

All it creates is the vob. Nothing else. In fact, I would not expect it to as it is just a file conversion program.

Personally, I have learnt from my mistakes and use other programs should I need to convert a file.

If you MUST use this one then just create a mpeg2 file with dvd parameters and then use another program for authoring since super, certainly not in the version I have, will create all the files required for burning a dvd.

  6. It just says it will only play on my PC since there are no .ifo or .bup files. I didn't go past the information dialogue in the process since I was looking to do the entire conversion within the one program. I just posted out of curiosity--wondering if there were a setting I needed to change or some such to get it to work.

The best thing to "change" is from SUPER to anything else(for DVD creation).

A better option to try, if you want all the files for a dvd burning project ifo, bup etc is AVStoDVD

  9. I tried AVStoDVD and I couldn't get it to work. FAVC did what I needed with no problem. I just wish someone would answer my question in the FAVC thread I started.

Both programs are merely frontends to a series of command-line programs.

If AVStoDVD does not work it is possibly down to the source file or how it was converted/created. Yeah, back to Super again.

I have answerd in the other thread not that it will help you much.
