Please give more info about the video. What resolution/frame size? Video codec and container?

I would use xmedia recode, it can easily crop under the crop/preview and convert to whatever format you like.

ok mostly the files(originalS) are high definition, music videos.......(1280p.)now i have been using avi(format)and, i guess the container is (dvix\xvid)..and i tried to do it with mkv(mpeg4-dvix\xvid).........with the mpeg(mpeg2),it seems working ok.but the video quality isnt good....well not crispy and sharp as the others, plus the file size, seems to be smaller in avi(dvix\xvid)my intention is to reduce the bit rate and resize the frame size to 720-480..........otherwise it wont play in my car....(it doesnt support more than that)it plays through a usb memory..........................ah....the other free tool was super....really good ...but it started to act this way as avs video converter.................................................. .....................................
