Use Imgburn and set it use the UDF file system.

However if you are hoping to play this in a standalone AVI supporting DVD player you may find you have problems, as many wont play files over 2GB in size.

Convert it to DVD and lose (even more)quality. That is your only option.

That's the thing, you have options - not every format is perfect.

It also depends what's in your AVI, which you never mentioned. If it's Xvid/DivX, it should play in certified players. If it has GMC or QPel, then some players will puke it out. If it's over 2GB, you may want to make sure it's in an OpenDML AVI container before cutting (you can remux this with AVI-Mux GUI if so).

You can check all this with MediaInfo (as well as test with your player). Remuxing and cutting are lossless. But "fixing" any GMC or QPel, like this app promises, needs a full re-encode, (and a loss of quality).

No disrespect to the authors, but how is this application, AVIReComp, little more than an Xvid encoder GUI? It says it removes GMC and QPel for stand-alone play, sure, but any Xvid encoder can do that with the right settings as well, which is the only way to "remove it" anyway. Hard coded subtitles, logos and borders are not revolutionary features either.

I guess, what I mean to say is call it an encoder GUI, not some fixer.

Yes...and it will lose even more quality in the process.

Just think of how your 2gb file was created.
If it was created from a DVD(which is 4.7gb)...that AVI file is less than HALF of the quality of the original DVD.
Once that quality is gone....it is gone for good. There is no getting it back.....it's gone because it was converted into
a different video format(and is was compressed to hell and back in that process).
The act of "conversion" between two different formats also creates quality loss.
