Been discussing this with Woopra via Twitter, but thought I'd post the whole story to the forums anyway.

I was using the Woopra WordPress plugin to track my stats, but it stopped working. So I followed the instructions

to set up the tracking manually. When I tried logging into the desktop client, however, I got the message "Unable

    to connect to Woopra".

I checked my username & password by logging into Woopra.com, and could log in fine. The tracking script logs my

visitors, because I can see them from here.

I've disabled my firewall (basic Windows firewall) even though Woopra has been excluded from being blocked & that

did not change the error message of "unable to connect".

I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling the software. No change. I could find no other troubleshooting tips.

Woopra is actually really good tracking software for websites.

@hech, I think you're definitely psycho on this one.

@ connorabb, your location may have something to do with the connection issues. Beyond that, however, I have a feeling you're experiencing a larger computer issue and not one of the software.

While this plugin may be passed via the firewall you may need to specify individual TCP and UDP ports for the plugin as well

    Ie

    Name > Woopra.udp
    Port >11228
    Check > UDP

    Name > Woopra.tcp
    Port > 11228
    Check > TCP

    Ok > Ok

    Try again

    ====

Depending on how you connect to the internet you may need to setup ports again ... ie > dsl modem (open required ports) ... refer to what is known as "port forwarding"
