Hi All,
I'm opening a restaurant and have two 40" TVs to be used as displays for our menu.
I have 2 JPGs (the menu) which I'd like to have running all day long.
If I buy 2 DVD players, what exactly would I need to do to make sure that the images look right (proper resolution) and stay there all day long (DVD/TV doesn't go to sleep)?
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

You may not even need DVD players. What are the TVs? Do they have built-in USB ports? That would be easiest.
Otherwise, get a cheap model of DVD player that has support for JPG files. I'd go for one that suports high resolution JPGs (1920x1080) or match the native resolution of the TV) has an HDMI out and slap the menus on a thumb drive. No DVDs or having to make movies required.Have a good one,

You don't need two dvd players, you can use a HDMI splitter. I agree with neomaine that a USB or SD port would be best if your TV's have them. You could load several JPG's on them and use the TV remote to change the menu(daily special).

Thanks for the suggestion neomaine. I don't actually have the TVs yet, so not sure about the USB/SD port option.
MOVIEGEEK, I want the 2 TVS to each be displaying a separate image, so I don't think the splitter would work. And if instead of a dvd player I used a computer, a splitter still wouldn't work...right? I'd need two video outputs like VGA & HDMI. -
I've been using this HDMI splitter from Monoprice for a while. Works great. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10113&cs_id=1011301&p_id=...seq=1&format=2

Bingo! Get ones that have USB/SD ports that support high def JPGs! For something like this that should be fairly easy and relatively low cost. No wiring, no networking, no making movies.
Create the menu, save to high def JPG (or other supported format) to the thumb drive/SD card, stick in TV. Done.Have a good one,
