Basically here's my stump. Im using windows xp sp3 and dvd lab pro to author my dvd's. I understand dvd lab pro more and more everyday and got the simple things figured out. But this seemingling so simple task i cannot figure out. Basically i want to add one audio track to my assets window and throw it in my root menu for auto play. The thing i cant figure out is how i make that one track of audio play continuously and loop (play again), whether you navigate away from the root menu to the chapters menu/credits etc... or not. Currently my Root menu audio has to restart everytime you change the page which is so annoying. Also is there a way i can preview the menu with the audio playing? At the moment my preview window wont play the video and audio at the same time all i get is video. When i click the audio tab it says "Video+Audio can play only on multiplexed (program) files *.mpg, *.vob" What the hell does that mean??? and how do i fix it or should i.

You cannot do it. The DVD specification doesn't support continuous audio across menus. Each asset is discrete, so the audio will break and restart when you change menus. It is a known and constantly annoying short-coming of the specification.

As for audio preview, install the pro tools add-on, found in the media chance forums, and use that for previewing.

So is this short-coming now possible in BR? I don't have BR, thus the question.

BR is a totally different kettle of fish. It allows for java(script ?) based menus, much greater levels of interaction, and yes, seamless audio and video backgrounds for menus.
