DVD Player doesn't play menu

My DVD Player no longer plays any menus from from both home made and store bought DVDs when the disc is first inserted. It did use to play the menus but these days it plays the first title straightaway.

However I am able to go to the main menu by pressing MENU button on th remote.

Anyone knows the cause for this behaviour?

Have you checked all dvd player settings?

Yes, checked already.

Unplug it from wall for a minute & plug it back in, this resets any electronic.

If you're going to try that, it's usually better to leave it unplugged for at least ten minutes to half an hour. It doesn't necessarily work with all players, however.

Thanks for the replies. This is not a new problem for me, it showed up a month ago, since then I would have unplugged and plugged it in several times. So that is not going to solve my problem. I am wondering if some circuitry inside the player has gone wrong.
