    Hi all,

My dad bought a new all in one PC (hp touchsmart) it has no firewire ports and no way of adding a pci card.

Is there any way he can capture the video from his DV camcorder on this pc?

    Cheers,
    Steven

Have you looked into a firewire to USB converter?
There are no problems - only chances to excel.

I can't vouch for how well it works, but you would be looking for something like this " http://www.everythingusb.com/news/index/3889.htm

There seem to be a few around, but check to make sure they support your format (I assume it is PAL)

Those Pixela devices don't work well. For full quality capture to another computer that has a Firewire port.

Or, capture analog to an S-video capture device. The quality will be lower.
