Hi all,
My dad bought a new all in one PC (hp touchsmart) it has no firewire ports and no way of adding a pci card.
Is there any way he can capture the video from his DV camcorder on this pc?
Cheers,
Steven

Have you looked into a firewire to USB converter?
There are no problems - only chances to excel.

I can't vouch for how well it works, but you would be looking for something like this " http://www.everythingusb.com/news/index/3889.htm
There seem to be a few around, but check to make sure they support your format (I assume it is PAL)Read my blog here.

can only see ntsc ones, although Pinnacle do a Movie Box HD-USB, that looks like it does dv to usb transfers.

Those Pixela devices don't work well. For full quality capture to another computer that has a Firewire port.
Or, capture analog to an S-video capture device. The quality will be lower.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
