I've just got a HD Satellite receiver that records in .ts

I want to convert videos to this format so I can watch them on the TV instead of laptop.

So far the only tool I've found that does it well (and it does do it perfectly) is RER Video Converter.

I was very close to purchasing it as I can't find a free program to do it but then FF started telling me that the site is dodgy.
Anyone know if it is, and if so then any ideas for other converters?

Super(c) does it but the quality is terrible and takes ages.
RER one is very good quality and quick, but free version only does first 20% of vid.

    Cheers!

Convert to what? DVD? If so try free DVD Flick or AVStoDVD.

Or convert to avi or mp4? If so handbrake, staxrip, xvid4psp or xmedia recode.

  3. I have a Foxsat -HDR and all I do is poke my USB pendrive in the front of the recorder download the file (except you can't load HD as it won't allow anything bigger than 4GB file) and transfer it to my computer. VLC free media player plays .ts files. To convert I use Aimersoft video converter Ultimate or I use the Total Video Converter, which emphasises it capability to convert these files

I can also convert these to DVD by using DVDFlick (free) or better ConvetXtoDVD4. But there is my question which I shall ask on another thread. Hope it helps, its a start for you anyway and I am sure my small piece is a fraction to what others here will tell you

    Trying AV2HDR now.

I need to convert AVI (or anything) to .ts

VLC does not play the .ts files

The RER converter was very fast with great results... Just a shame the site seems to be dodgy.

Will try some of those recommended programs.

Thanks very much, I'll keep you posted on my progress.
