Hopefully someone can help, I tried the other suggestions I found on the site, but nothing is working. I have avi files that I normally play in Real Player. I was having no trouble at all with them this weekend, but yesterday when I tried to open one, the picture is upside down. I'm not the most computer-literate person, but any help would be awesome. TIA.

Have you installed any video software or codecs packs lately?

    Only one is upside down?

Try installing the latest divx codec.

i haven't installed anything since using it this weekend. i think the only thing that changed was a virus scan ran. but i'm not sure how that would mess up the pictures. and no, not just one. even files i watched already and had no problems with were upside down also.

I've seen people say things about deleting or updating codecs. how would i need to go about doing that to try and fix it?

The easiest fix is to just install/reinstall the latest divx codec as I pointed out above.

If that doesn't work, then you may need to do some cleanup work. Try a tool such as codecsniper.

I wouldn't say "regular", but there are updates. For the most part, unless I have trouble playing a particular file, I just leave well enough alone. No reason to "fix" something that is working fine.
