Hi all, what format that ppl recommend? I would like to be able to fit all 82 episodes (in 8 DVDs) Asian TV series into a 16GB flashdisk so that I don't have to change DVD and playable in media player. i would like to be able to turn on the English subtitle as well. Thanks in advance. Also is there any recommended free software to do that. Thanks in advance.

Rip the dvds to iso using dvddecrypter, then convert to avi using fairusewizard and check that you want to extract the subs.

I think a free solution would be more practical. Try Handbrake.

hanugro, are your DVDs actual DVD-Video discs, or data discs with video files? If the latter, what type of video files? And, does your player (which player is it?) allow external subtitle files?

Bwizzy: Handbrake wouldn't be able to do any actual DVD decrypting, though... and if this is for a DivX/Xvid-capable DVD player, Handbrake isn't able to output to that format (DivX/Xvid AVI) anymore.

Hi all, thanks for suggestion. I bought the DVDs on the store so it should be a proper DVD with menu. Actually I have not open it yet. Ideally I would want to be able to turn on/off subtitle if possible.

I also have several media player from WD TV HD, RCA L100 full HD, and unknown brand made in china full HD with network jack. As this TV series is standard resolution, I plan to view it on WD TV HD.

How about the codecs? I think I should use H.264 as WD TV does not support RMVB.
