You need to check each players subtitle support options and change font to @Arial Unicode MS , chinese_big5

Rmvb dose not support subtitles ... unless some fool used rmvb subtitle muxer

Stick with real alternative but never install both real players.

Media player classic and homecinema, vlc are independant players which should not cause issues

Do you mean subtitles embedded in a RealMedia container are just an "ugly hack" ?

Also, was RealMediaSplitter designed for supporting such "unofficial hack"?

I ask this because the ASF specs, for example, do allow subtitle streams in the ASF container
(no, I'm not talking about "script commands"),
even though Microsoft itself has never cared about
adding support for them in Windows Media Player for instance.

gabest's real media splitter was designed for subtitle as additional stream
the rmvb subtitle muxer (for srt only afaik) was designed to take advantage of that and it worked .
don't know if that function is available in the current real media splitter

Hi, Many thx for the helpful replies. I have used vlc in the past (some few years ago) but it wasn't as well featured as today, thx from above reply I'm using it now and it solved all problems. Again going back a few years (lol), in the past when converting rmvb file to other source (xvid/divx) using the avisynth&virtualdub method - real alternative codec won't do the conversion, hence today I only installed official real player just for its codec, may be real alternative have changed since my last rmvb conversion?

Onto another subject pls, could anyone pls recommend me a freeware that remove 'dead' files (duplicate file that have 0byte size and won't delete) pls? thx
