My girlfriend's favorite show is not available on DVD. They stopped releasing them years ago and have no plans to release the rest of the series.

I have the episodes and I want to create box sets for her as a Christmas present. But I want to do one of the commercial type sets. The ones that fold out and have transparent plastic disc holders with artwork underneath.

I have looked all over google and can find nothing. Is this just not possible without expensive professional equipment? I know I can make artwork for a 4 disc DVD case. But it's just not the same.

If anybody has ideas they would be very much appreciated

If they not available on DVD, how do you have them? Captured VHS?

Anything you plan to put on DVD must be in mpg format.

They are already in DVD video format- I recorded them with my set top DVD recorder. I just want to make a boxset to put them in.

Ah, you mean just the artwork? Only thing I can think of is a professional place to do it. Look on the internet for a cheap one near yourself.

  5. Sounds like you might want something like what these guys produce:

But, I doubt it will be cost effective. I also doubt that they will do a one-off set for you.
Still they might be able to offer suggestions for you if you contact them in a polite and business like fashion.

If you're looking to do it all yourself, you can always buy one of the clear plastic fold-out sets and replace all the inserts with your own. I don't know if they sell the fold-outs by themselves.

I can promise you that unless she is rather unusual woman that your extraordinary efforts to do a special boxset instead of a standard 4 disc DVD case will NOT be appreciated as much as you think they will. Oh she'll probably appreciate it, but most likely she really doesn't care as much as you think she will for this effort to make it just like the commercial sets instead of giving her the standard 4 disc case. It's your time and money, but I'll warn you that you're likely to be seriously underwhelmed by the response you get. I'd advise just using the standard 4 disc case.

While a guy would probably really appreciate what you propose, this kind of thing just really isn't all that important to women. In fact, there's some chance she may even regard your well intentioned project as more clutter to have to deal with. Mark my words, the odds are really high that she's not going to appreciate this as much as you think she should.

I'm guessing this is "Malcolm In The Middle". Did I guess correctly?

I just recycle old boxes, usually you can unclip or slide out the cover inserts and replace them with your own prints.

Actually it's Boy Meets World. It was her favorite show when she was a kid and she's kind of bummed out that she can't buy the rest of the seasons- even though it's on tv 500 times a day.

And yes, I realize that she's not going to be overwhelmed by it. I don't expect her flip out over a dozen 25 cent DVDs. But every Christmas we both try to give one gift that we put some thought into- instead of something anybody could just buy at a store. We both collect DVDs and I know she would like to complete the BMW set. Conversely, I wasn't planning on going to any great lengths to do this. I just thought maybe some of you might have some ideas

  11. Just go to Ebay:

And do something like paint a picture for her. She gets a nice present and the DVDs with better quality.

@videopoo - The problem is that there were more than 3 seasons of the show. Only the first 3 seasons are on DVD.
