I have and SD camcorder. I like the image quality but I was just wondering if there is any possible way to make SD look more like HD. If there is please tell me.
    My camera is Sony's DCR-SR45

Its physically not possible, but if you are familiar or want to learn Avisynth, there is a function written by a user to try to achieve this. The Avisynth function is called iiP (or Integrated Image Processing). It is very slow at processing your video. It is like watching paint dry or grass grow. SLOOOOWWW. But the final output is pretty darn good. Not HD, but pretty good nonetheless.

If you dont have the time or patience, then I am not sure what else is out there.

Is your cam footage in widescreen format? Do you intend to to encode & burn to bluray or HD DVD format and watch on HDTV? Just curious.

What do you mean by make it look more like HD?

You can't add resolution by upscaling. You can shoot at the highest bitrate allowed by the camcorder and in wide mode. That gets you the best SD picture that camera can export. Use the S-Video outputs to your HDTV. Your HDTV will upscale that to screen resolution.

Or convert to DVD at highest DVD bitrate and play from a DVD player using analog component or HDMI connections.

The camcorder encodes everything to MPeg2. Set to highest quality in the menus.
