  1. What downloable codecs contains "mpeg 1 or 2 layer 3 (MP3)"

i have ffdshow and xvid installed and thei offer perhaps? not exactley this codec, cause there is no alternative
in any of my converters softs to choose "mpeg 1 or 2 layer 3 (MP3)" as output,
its just something credited as "mpeg layer 3" available

on top of the almost similar name only
it's highest bitrate to give that is allways "56 kBit/ 24,000 Hz"
thats not so near the the sourche files who often seem to go on a 128 Kbps? standard

thats why i wonder if this really is the same codec?
but if so..why cant if offer direct stream copying techniques on the audio

    Search Comp PM
Install Lame ACM and you should be able to select lame mp3 in your converters.

    That's Microsoft's sorry-ass MP3 encoder, part of quartz.dll. It's just there to make MP3 look bad.
