I just purchased a lite on LH-20A1H and it says it supports the dual-layer function allowing up to 8.5GB data to be burned and saved on a single dual-layer disc. Now does that mean I can burn with a single layer dvdr+ and i can use dvd 9 option in dvdfad or do i still have to burn it with dvd-5? what does that mean exactly if anyone could answer this rather simple question.
    Thanks in advance.

  2. You have to use DL media not SL media. Here is a link to what you are looking for:

There is no such thing as DUAL LAYER CDS! But there is DUAL LAYER DVD+R media that you can use for your LITEON dvd burner. Use only VERBATIM DUAL LAYER DVD+R media for that purpose because if you use any other brands you'll end up with failed burns or playback problems.

I've yet to try Verbatim media but by "failed burn" do you think that would include the blank disk not even showing up in the drive? Drive doesn't recognize that HP brand dual layer DVD+r 2.4x is even in the drive. I tried several different software apps as well as win xp info and nothing. I also tried updating the firmware and still get no recognition of a disk in the LH-20A1H. Any help would be appreciated!
    PS
There are no problems with any kind of single layer disks.
    Thanx,
    Joe
Sorry if this post is in the wrong place
