I like to use WinAVI to convert many clips into a DVD. Conversion is fast with good result.
WinAVI can produce the DVD menu automatically , but not customizable. This is what I hate most because I can not
set title, description, etc.
I like TMPGenc DVD Author to build the menu, but it takes so long to do the conversion. I can barely stand the conversion time.
Is there any smarter way to convert fast to DVD with customizable menu ?
Or is there any way to use WinAvi for conversion and use TMPGenc DVD Author to do the menu layout (while avoiding reencoding)?

Give Diko a try it uses DVD Styler to create menus. And uses HC-encoder to encode the video. And in my opinion the video quality is better than that of WinAvi.

Yes it does, there are guides that should give details on doing this. I don't recall off the top of my head its been a few years since i used it. I now encode everything to mkv h264/ac3 and store on my media center after backing up to removable media.
