  1. My uncle is giving me a copy of Master Collection (he works with Adobe) and I would like to learn how to edit video files. I have not gotten it yet and I have not done much, if any, video editing. I do have a pretty good computer with 4 gig of ram, so am fairly confident about that part. The part I would like to ask now, is about ripping video from a DVD. I don't see any of the Adobe software that does that. At least they don't mention it anywhere. Anybody know if one of the video editing pieces will do that?

If the DVD is unprotected - i.e. home made or manufactured without copy protection - then you can simply copy the contents to your HDD. Personally I would use VOB2MPG to extract the DVD content to an .mpg file as Premiere is more likely to import it this way.

If it is protected you will have to use either AnyDVD ($$) or DVDFab HD Decrypter (free) to rip the DVD to your HDD.

Adobe does not produce DVD ripping software.
