ive been a long time fan of magicdvdripper for several months, but recently they fixed the free trial bug where one could redownload the trial over and over again. now you can only use it once.

anyways, ive tried loads of software - namely: DVDFAB, handbrake, dvdshrink, fairuse wizard, xvid4psp, and many others. all have failed.

all i want to do is burn a basic dvd movie on to my computer. that's it.

magicdvdripper ripped the file directly into avi without any conversion hassle or anything.

any ideas! please, ive been searching for months!

There are many ripping tools listed in the Tools section of this Forum (see stuff on left).

Just as one example, DVDshrink is a venerable free tool. It is a little out of date, so it won't always succeed. Others will soon chime in with their favorites.

Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

DVDFab HD Decrypter -> DVD Rebuilder (if necessary) -> Imgburn. All free. Always works.

    I suspect PEBKAC.

And what problems do you have ? If you can give specifics, including error messages or a clear idea of the problem, we might be able to give you a solution.

ive already done extensive trouble shooting with anandtech and other forums. im just simply looking for new alternatives.

the programs that do work (such as aimersoft) unfortunately run on an extremely limited trial basis. you know, watermarks, sound additions, video cut off, etc..

magicdvdripper did it all. i would buy it myself because im too young to have a credit card and the local electronic store doesnt carry it.

Your choices seem simple to me - either fix what you have, or buy the tool you want.

Many people are using the tools you are having trouble with, and have no troubles at all. All the best tools are in your list of don't works, along with a lot of crap. Your alternatives are all further down the crap list, IMO. Personally I would want to get the good ones working.
