  1. Hi, I'm thinking of trying & purchasing ConvertXToDVD but I'm trying to find out in plain English:

    Yes or no

    1. Is ConvertXToDVD compatible with Windows Vista? I just bought this tower:

    http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-Pavilion-Elite-m9402f-Desktop-m9402f/sem/rpsm/oid/22...oductDetail.do

...so you should be able to tell from the listed specs if it will or not (I thought I'd better list it since I always get the "which version do you have" speech and I don't know I'm a newbie at all of this)

    2. Can ConvertXToDVD convert from and to all of these?

    FLV to MP3
    MP4 to MP3
    VOB to MP3
    MPG to MP3

    PAL (VOB) to NTSC (MPG)
    PAL (MPG) to NTSC (MPG)

    NTSC (VOB) to PAL (MPG)
    NTSC (MPG) to PAL (MPG)

Thanks in advance for yes's and no's.

Had to ask here since main site page is overwhelming with info and I wasn't sure if trial version was fully functional or not and I wanted to find this out first since I've tried some trial versions of other software and I don't know if it's because many aren't Vista compatible or what but they keep making my system crash so I want to make sure that this wil do what I need before going forward with it this time since what I'm looking for isn't that complex but most I've found leave out at least one of the above scenarios etc.

There may be free tools I could use but they seem rather cumbersome and because I'm a newbie at this I don't mind paying for it as long as it's user friendly and will convert what I need it to convert sucessfully. So if ConvertXToDVD won't do all of this, can you recommend the most user friendly one out there that will do this for me?

No. It can't do any of these. ConvertXtoDVD does only one thing. It converts various forms of video ("X") to, well, DVD. It only outputs valid DVD structures (ifo, vob, bup files). You could use it to convert PAL to NTSC and NTSC to PAL, then use VOB2MPG to extract the mpg files after conversion.

For MP3 you might look at SUPER.

And ConvertX is compatible with Vista, at least the 32bit versions of the OS.
