    Hi,

I need some advice as to how I can correct out of sync audio after reducing the size of a 2 minute 29MB clip.

From gspot, the source file is an mpeg2/AC3 with the following :
    frms 2256
    kbps 2340
    resolution 720 x 576

Using SUPER to re-encode to H.264/AAC, resolution 320x240 & frame/sec 29.97, I managed to reduce it to about 11MB but the audio is out of sync.

How should I correct the out of sync audio?

Also, is it possible to reduce the file size further? I am aware that there will be quality loss and I'm ok with it.

    Thanks in advance.

What was the framerate of the source ? I suspect you have changed the framerate, which is why you are out of sync. Use Xvid4PSP instead of SUPER. You will get a much better result.

    Hi guns1inger,

    Thanks for the reply.

Frame rate of the source is 25.000 while I selected 29.97 in SUPER in the initial run. I have also retried with 25 in SUPER but still the audio is out of sync. Do I also need to adjust the bitrate?

I downloaded and installed Xvid4PSP but I'm at a loss how to use it... where do I change the resolution? Which video encoding to use? Even for X264, there are so many...

My objective is to reduce the filesize. I understand that quality will be affected but I'm prepare for it.

    Thanks

Under the Video menu is the option for resizing. Just remember to Apply the selection before you OK the dialogue. Choose standard MP4 output. Do not change the framerate. Select x264 Q21 Turbo for Video encoding, and AAC-LC ABR 96 for Audio encoding
