I am working on a setup where I get analog source in PAL through RCA cables, encode it MPEG-4 (preferably via hardware encoder) and push it to my streamer via Unicast.

Right now, I have a computer that will have a capture card and process the signal.

I'd like to know what capture cards you suggest and what software/hardware solution I should try to convert the signal in real-time and push it out of this "broadcaster" computer I have now.

    Thanks,

    SM

    Ok, this is my update:

I started using GraphEdit to bypass VLC's low-quality output (and lack of sound). What I have setup in my GraphEdit is the signal going through my HVR-1800 crossbar, demux'd, and mux'd back to a TS format and finally saved as .AVI.

However, my problem is that I'm doing a live stream so I don't know how to set the File Writer in GraphEdit to write to the file perpetually (starting from beginning when it reaches a certain size or smth).

Does anyone know how to write to an .avi file in a perpetual manner?

    Thanks for your input!
