    Hi

The subject sort of says it all. Just installed FFmpegX. Installed all binaries. When I try to convert a FLV to MOV, the result is a 0 Kb file.

    Can anybody help?

    J.

We really need a sticky on what info to provide for requests like this. "It didn't work" conveys too little information for us to be of much help, except by luck.

Please post the contents of the information log (click on the blue 'i' in ffmpegx's progress window). Hopefully, it will contain information that we can use to help debug your problem.

    tomlee,

Thanks for replying. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to give my students in an anger management course a little fun!

    Here's the log:

The "codec ... mismatch" message suggests that you should select "invert mapping" in the audio options. Give that a try and see if it solves your problem. It may introduce new problems (flv is implicated in many of the problems brought up on this thread, as a quick search will show), but one onion-layer at a time...

Fyi: It's also a good idea to avoid the use of spaces, commas and other "special" characters in pathnames. Some modules used by ffmpegx are intolerant of them (even though the Mac OS itself may not have a problem, ffmpegx makes use of routines adapted from the unix world). You might want to modify your filenames/pathnames accordingly, just in case.

I'm glad that you had no more problems beyond that one.

    Happy holidays!
