I was trying to create an mpg from a vob file. I would click start, get the first step that takes 2 secs, and then click start again. It then zips straight through the file in 1 sec and creates a size 0 mpg file. It only does this on this vob file.

I have selected the video portion of the vob file. Used DVDfab Plat 4 to rip the DVD. Other files from other rips work fine.

Select the VIDEO_TS folder within the VOB, then start.

Yep, did that already. No joy. Couldn't rip just one audio track either. After we analyzed what was happening we think the DVD is screwed up somehow. Another DVD from the same set has no problems.

Did you tell VOB2MPEG to output the MPEG to the same folder as the VOBs? Try telling it to output to a different folder - and if possible, a different folder on a different hard drive.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

The program only allows you to select a folder - and it won't output across volumes.

But yes, I had a different folder for the output selected anyway. My net minion thinks it may be the DVD itself that is screwed up.
