Under the advanced tab in TEMPG under Source Aspect Ratio how do I know what to select?

    Im doing a SVCD.

On the conversion guide it says:
Select Source Aspect Ratio select 1:1 (VGA) (if your source is in 4:3 select 4:3 525 line(NTSC) for NTSC and 4:3 625 line(PAL) for PAL)
It says "if your source is in 4:3 select 4:3 525 line(NTSC)" etc etc etc. how do I know what the "Source is"

    Thanx

  2. Is your question how to know the size of the original video or what does source mean (in that case it would mean the size of the video you are about to convert)
the best setting in my experience is keep aspect ratio because you don't have to worry about streching it will put black bars on top and below(like a dvd) if it's not the right format...

My question is do I leave it on 1:1 or do I change it?

Im ripping a dvd to svcd?

  4. 1:1 is never appropriate for a dvd>svcd conversion. find out what aspect ratio your source is(dvd2avi, bitrate viewer etc...) and select that for source & 4:3 for ouput
