Okay, I have this DVD with this movie I want to subtitle... the DVD has, obviously the usual (I think) 2 directories: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.

    AUDIO_TS is empty.

    VIDEO_TS has 10 files:

    - VIDEO_TS.BUP, . IFO and .VOB (3 files)
    - VTS_01_0.BUP and VTS_01_1.BUP (2 files)
    - VTS_01_1.VOB until VTS_01_5.VOB (5 files)
    - Total = 10 files

I found a guide here, writen by a guy named maybe Matrix, a guide which I canīt find it anymore (unbeliavable, not even on the history), about ripping the DVD with DVD Decrypter (which I did) and then inserting the subtitles (I already have the .srt file) with a program called DVD-lab PRO 2. The problems began when I tried to import the Audio files to the project. I donīt know if the sound is merged with the video (probably). I need help. All I wanna do is rip the DVD, add the subtitles, and re-burn the DVD with the subtitles. How hard can that be? Please help me! Thanx in advance...

Okay, Iīll try it putting it in another way... The DVD doesnīt have menus, it doesnīt have subtitles, it doesnīt have angle options, it doesnīt have extras... it has just the movie, and maybe a cover for when playing it on Windows Media Player.

Basically itīs just the movie file, but it is in DVD format (AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS) directories, instead of file formats, like .avi or .mpg, or whatever...
It has just 1 chapter: The whole 2 hour movie.

I tried Baldrickīs guide, all I get is error messages when demuxing.

Please... I donīt want menus, all I want to do is getting the subtitle there (syncronized, if possible), starting everytime when I start the DVD, I guess it canīt get any more simple than that, or maybe not?

    Thanx

It's found in a sticky in the Subtitles Forum:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/topic219535.html

Baldrick's is more up-to-date and uses all freeware tools. So, yeah, what happens during the demux? And this is when using PGCDemux? If there's something wrong with this DVD and PGCDemux doesn't want to work with it, there are other ways to demux also. DGIndex might be more forgiving of DVD corruption. Open all the VOBs at once and File->Save Project and Demux Video. That will give you the M2V and AC3 audio, if that's what it is.

You can create chapters fairly easily if using the Baldrick guide, when reauthoring with Muxman.

This is the guide I always follow to add or change subtitles on DVD:

This guide only uses free software and it is correct. I have used it many times to do this.

Hi guys, thanx for all the heads up. This is what I did now. After I saw that Matrixīs guide was about 2004, I went with Baldricks's one: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic338721.html. I will tell step by step what I did, so it may help to create other guides for people who just want to add a subtlitle to just one title/chapter of the DVD... with no menus, or other subtitles or whatever.

Method 1 flopped 'cause even though I have the codecs that Subtltle Creator wants to make a preview of the movie with the subtitles, it doesnīt accept, and if I change that in the options, the movie gets tottally out of sync with itīs own sound. And then it pops up an error message in the authoring wizard, not sure in which part, so I quitted that and went to Method 2 (thanx for that, Baldrick).

At Methot 2, I used Demultiplex, which just locked up my PC the fisrt time, I think it was HD related, nothing much... I have more than enough HD space. Just tried it again and got it.

Then Subtitle Creator, converted it to .SUP. Done

    Then Muxman, got it.

Then I skiped the Optional adding back the Original menus (it doesnīt have any, I probably said that already).

Then I got to the part of knowing if updating the IFO files was necessary. And I gotta say that it was a pretty frustrating part, 'cause even PGCEdit as IFOEdit are very "raw" programs in my opinion, and none of the guides I saw for them both adress my particular case, I think.

I used PGCEdit anyway, using manono's post as a guide, never knowing what quite I was doing, like a shot in the dark, or something.

Well, lucky me I applied PGCEdit to a different output folder than the one created by Muxman. I tested the one created by PGCEdit (with Media Player Classic), and the subtitles are all messed up, in green colors, and pretty unreadable. I was overwhelmed by disappointment... until I tested the original output file after Muxman, before PGCEdit, and it was all good... tested it on VLC Media Player, just to be sure... will try burning the DVD now, fingers crossed... thanx again to you guys for all the help. Cheers... 8)
