Hi. Long time reader, first time poster.

I've always used EO Video to cut and convert my rmvb files to AVI for video editing. This worked fine in XP on my old laptop.

However, last week I got a new laptop with Vista installed and EoVideo starts crapping out on me.

It would convert one file on the playlist in EO Video fine, but when it goes down to the next file on the list, it gives me a Real engine cannot start error and craps out.

Is there a more reliable program to cut and convert rmvb files with in Vista?

I've tried Ultra Rm converter, it worked fine and was faster than EO, but it won't let me view the files and select start and end points were I want to cut. Basically I had to "memorize" the times where I want to cut. Any suggestions?

You could try alltoavi, though I haven't used it with Vista.

Or a little harder, but with more control, and they seem to work fine with Vista, VirtualDub Mod and AVIsynth.

    Some guides here: https://www.videohelp.com/guides?searchtext=&tools=&madeby=&formatconversionselect=RM+t...or+List+Guides
