I use GB-PVR to record television programs. I want to transcode them to DivX or XviD and burn them to disc for later viewing on my set top Philips player. I am unable to convert the source video to either DivX or XviD without the audio becoming progressively out of synch with the video. Roughly a third of the way through playback and until the end it starts out modestly out of synch and gets worse to the end. This occurs when playing on the Philips, WMP, the DivX software player, and every other media player I've got. Here is the GSpot analysis of the source video:

To convert, so far I've tried the following:

DivX Converter (most current version) - most current DivX codec and the prior release
AutoGK using both current DivX and XviD codecs

All converters and codecs use default settings.

GB-PVR also uses default audio and video settings. I forgot to mention that the source video plays back fine through all media players. I have tried to make a DVD from it since I prefer smaller video sizes that can be crammed onto a single disc. Thanks!

Are you cutting out the commercials? It could be a couple of possible reasons. Crop out the commercials with Mpeg2Cut2 or Videoredo, then try converting the resulting file with AutoGK.

I am not currently cutting the adverts, but I will try one of those methods and see what happens - thanks!

I used a program called PVAStrumento to correct the synch issues. Definitely a pain to add an extra step to the conversion process, but at least it's free and it works.
