I read the sticky at the top of the forum but it doesn't really apply because the avi files I have that I am trying to burn (there are four of them) work 100% perfect in any media player on my computer. So I know Nero Vision is easy to use but it's also jacking up the audio somehow. I have burned many-a-dvd with Vision and a lot of times it works so I'm not sure where the disconnect is. In this case all four avi files come up bad once the DVD is inserted into the DVD player. I have the Smart Encoding turned off and create chapters automatically turned on. I've managed to turn a few DL DVDs into coasters so any help is appreciated.

I would just try something else for those 4 avi files, either convertxtodvd or a free software like dvd flick.

NV does not enjoy a particularly good rep around here. Because of an earlier familiarity with it, I have used it on occasion -- mostly when I'm really in a hurry and don't care that much about the results. ("I don't need it good, I need it yesterday.") But I'm looking to move on to much better tools, even if there is time and a learning curve involved.
When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.
