  1. I have created several Video CD's using TMPNGE and Virtual Dub.They play fine
on the comouter. When I play these on my DVD Player, they start off fine. As you
go further into the movie, it starts skipping, and color blocks appear on the screen.
It will usually correct itself or I can fast forward a second. I am using the office
depot brand cd rw discs. I have noticed that when I take the cd out of the dvd
player, it is very hot. Could this be the cause?? I have a Sony dvd player.

  2. I am having the same problem. Email me at ronniemillsaps@hotmail.com if you figure out a fix please.

I am using nero burning rom software, what are you using

  3. I am also using Nero. I have tried to have Nero convert it, and I have tried using the TMPNGE to make the mpeg first. Same problem on both.

  4. This sounds like a media compatibility issue. Your DVD player can just (barely) read your CD-R media but as it heats up or as it reads further out on the disc, it becomes increasingly difficult for it to read properly --> skips plus coloured blocks (which = reading errors).

Try different brands of CD-R media to see if another brand works better. CD-RW often works better than CD-R in these cases.

  6. It has nothing to do with the media you are using. You have the bitrate set too high for the Sony DVD player to handle. Perhaps when you encode the movies, set it down to less than 1700kbits total (audio+video) and burn it with nero... then you shouldn't have the problems you are having right now.
If after trying this method and still unsuccessful, then try setting the encoding on TMPNGE using their default VCD template and burn using nero.

    Good luck!

  7. PowerPC, please read the thread properly. It should be obvious that psigna is using the default VCD settings.
