I tried to edit a divx video clip, downloaded from Stage6 with VirtualDub. But it squawks about an audio codec not being installed. Does anyone know the reason for VD not able to play this particular video? Which codec is it talking about; MP3 plays fine in other video? Thanks!

Are you using latest virtualdub 1.7.6? It looks like this problem: http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=10931&

    Or try VirtualdubMOD instead.

^Thank you Baldrick. I appreciate your help to others and to me with your knowledge. I’ve already checked with VirtualDubMod (It’s the latest version); the video is there but no sound. I even tried to demux to wav and then remux. I installed newer version of VirtualDub as you suggested and at least it gave me more information why it doesn’t like the audio in this divx video:

I tried to adjust the start time in interleave audio option but the result has not been successful. I’m attempting now to wade through the linked site to see it helps.
