Can someone help me out here. The problem has only just happened, l switched my computer on and where my volume icon is there is a red circled cross and it says No Audio output installed so l have no volume. l have not deleted or removed anything so where would my volume control be. Would be grateful for any help on this.

Go into Device Manager (Right-click My Computer -> Manage, then expand the Device Manager branch) and locate the audio device. I suspect that Device Manager will still show the device as happy and working. Uninstall the device, but do not choose to delete the drivers. Restart the system and let Windows re-install the audio device. Everything should then be OK again.
