Divx is a lossy codec, so re-encoding your video to Divx will incur some quality loss. AutoGK's hidden settings (ctrl+F9) include cropping functions.

There are lossless codecs, however the trade off is that they are only playable on your PC, and the files sizes are very large.

You can do Constant Quality encoding with Divx/Xvid, which will try to make the results visually identical, but you have no control over the file size. Start with some tests and see if you can find a balance.

  5. If you don't know how to do something as simple as cropping a video, then let AutoGK handle the job. It'll crop away the black automatically, and properly resize it as well. You can create DivX AVIs with it.

You can try overriding the aspect ratio in the hidden settings, or by using mpeg4modifer before you process with AutoGK (depending on the file type, of course).

  9. Either open the IFO for the video in AutoGK, or open the first VOB. The other 2 will be added automatically.
