I created a compliant divx movie using Tmpgenc 4.0 Xpress and I tired to use Divx Author to create menus. What I noticed is that Divx Author continues to re-encode the video, which is already a compliant divx file.
Does anyone know a way to avoid the re-encoding part of the process? I would appreciate any information on this subject.![]()

This has been mentioned a lot with this product, and I have not seen a way to get around it. However what hasn't been clarified is whether or not it is truly re-encoding, or simply demuxing and remuxing very slowly. I personally have not had a need to try the program out for myself as all my players are standard Divx players, I don't see the need for menus beyond what they provide for me.
As an alternative you might try this : http://labs.divx.com/MenuRaiderRead my blog here.

Thanks Guns1inger for your reply, I have one more observation.
I noticed that the menus do not work in the divx player, the menu pages are visible, yet all selections play the video from the beginning. Has anyone experienced this and if so what suggestions can you give.Do unto others....with a vengeance!
