Everytime when i want to burn my movie avi file to 4.7Gb blank dvd using my nero 7 essentials this bar pops up
do i need to delete my other files to decrease my hard disk space?which im not,i have wasted electricity and time downloading those files, especially movies.i have burned a music video avi 89 mb to a blank dvd 4.7gb half capacity,i have no problem problem burning it.im only having problem when burning full capacity files like 700mb to a blank dvdThere is not enough space available for the recording process:
There are 799mb available for temporary files in the folder 'c:\New folder',but the recording process will need approximately 4568mb

	Hi
-
I know this sounds condecending but if you read the message you wouldn't need to ask the question.

To build your DVD Nero needs to create an image (work file) to burn and this file will be 4568MB, however your hard drive only has 799MB free.

 You have 2 solutions
First (and most obvious) clear some space on C by deleting unwanted files.
Under XP there is a cleanup wizard!
Also try deleting ALL offline content from IE

Secondly change nero to use another drive (with the required space) as it's scratch/work area.

Either way you won't successfully burn until you incease the disk space available to nero

	Welcome g_pentium

We's think you answered you own question already .

It's saying you dont have enough free space on drive C to carry out the conversion process .

So , yes , get rid of what is nolonger required on C drive asap ... preferably burned to disc for backup if you need to keep stuff ... and make sure you do a verification on each completed disc once burnt .

It's no good to have a backup ... if when you need it ... its stuffed ... always verify .

PS : Nero is probably doing re-encoding to dvd ... maybe you want a data dvd only .

thanks for the reply.IKnowNothing and Bjs,really appreciated.
wow,i dont know that Nero needs to create an image(work file) to burn, does other software's use the same method,is using WinAVI Video Converter wise?

how do i delete All offline content from IE?im using mozilla firefox at the moment.Hi
-
Under FF, clear your Private Data.

You really need another HDD. 40 GB isn't much any more. Depending on the software being used, you generally need between 9 and 14 GB to create a DVD. You need space for your source files, space for the encoded working files, space to author to, and sometimes space for an image before burning.Read my blog here.

	thanks guns1inger!
how do i clear my offline content from IE?

well, that leaves me no choice(yeah 40GB ain't a number for avid movie fanatic like me)Hi
-
	To clear all data :

 Windows explorer .
 Tools
 Folder options
 View tab
Hidden files and folders > Select show
 Uncheck both hidden options below

Answer Yes , apply , ok

 Go to Documents and Settings
 Normal login account by name
 Local Settings
 History = clear
Temp = clear (may have items remain that refuse removal ... run av scan ... if no problem , leave them)
 Temporary Internet Files = clear

You may have "Content.IE" with folders = delete the folders contained within .

 Leave desktop.ini and index.dat alone .

Reset hidden files and folders .

Then go find other unwanted files for removal .

Run scan disk , if its been a while since .
The defrag the hard drive , even if defrag says no need , do it before file crc checksum issues appear .

Hi, I am having this same problem but no matter how much I delete on my computer, Nero does not seem to recognize it.

I had like 19 GB free and then suddenly my computer says only 3 GB free.
How do I delete the images created by Nero from previous dvd burning? Where do these go and how do I get rid of them?
-
Search system for *.nrg or *.iso , or for file's greater than 350mbs , that'll find them .

After a while , it would be a good idea to run chkdisk from > start > run , but only after you have located them and deleted them (hold the shift key down when doing so , and they bypass the recycle bin) .

Run scandisk , and reboot , then defrag the drive .
