  1. hey. i know this is very newbie-ish but please bear with me. on my computer i have an ATI Radeon 64 capture card which consists of ONE composite in, ONE composite out, and ONE S-Video out. my camera consists of one A/V out, one S-Video out, and one wierd thing that is really small. well i am able to connect my s-video out to an adapter that changes it to composite and i plug it into the composite in my computer, but all i can get is video, is it possible for me to get audio?

    thanks

  2. Plug the sound into the line-in on your soundcard.

Assuming you have sounds beyond basic beeps:

Your speakers are plugged into a hole using a plug about 1/8" in diameter. Very near this hole will be more of them. One is probably marked by an arrow pointing into concentric rings; this is line-in. Another is probably marked with a "lollipop" which represents a microphone; this is microphone-in.

Failing this, try reading the manuals for your computer.

  5. If you find out that you have a sound card, make sure that "line in" is not muted.

  6. Adding to what "up" suggested. Open your Volume Control Settings.
Select Properties->Recording and check if your Line In is enabled. If you have a microphone connected, ensure you disable this in your recording controls to prevent stray external sounds from being recorded into your capture.
