    more info about your video?
    using gspot?
    more info about your vid software?
    What are you doing?

    DV is the preferred editing format.

    You can go to DV with vdub and the cedocida DV codec.

    I'm making a music vid, so far all the clips (from dvd, used dvdshrink) on the project are mpg. Need to add some clips that are mp4 video. (iTunes)

    This isn't video bought from the iTunes Music Store, is it? If it is, it'll be DRM-encoded, which means most converters won't be able to do much with it as-is.
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

    Yes, it is. I just need little bits from the movies, don't need to backup the whole thing.

    Even to use a small section requires circumventing the iTunes DRM, which is not easy with the current versions of iTunes.

    You could try playing the video and using s screen capture utility to grab the section you want.

    From reading the Tunebite website, this doesn't actually remove the DRM, it just automates a screencap process. Is this right ?

    Guns1linger,
    Yeah you're right it just screencaps it to 3ivX, which will further deteriorate the OP's quality by the time they get it to an editor.

  10. Well, I've decided I'm better off not using those movies. I'm a newbie and already lost. I ended up with plenty of clips to go along with the song, even have to give up some of them to shorten the production.

    Thanks so much for your help though!
