  1. I get this error message when I try to convert something in AutoGK.
I haven't seen the message before today, and I'm not aware of any changes to my system that would change my encoding capabilities.

I tried re-installing AutoGK, and I even tried doing a system restore, and I still get the message. It appears to give me this error whenever I try to convert something, regardless of what the source material is.
I tried a couple VOBs, and a couple AVIs. Same error.

Here's a little bit from the AutoGK log, if that helps

  2. UPDATE: I still have no clue what the problem was, but I figured out a solution. I went to the last video that I converted, checked the properties for the date it was converted, and did a System Restore for the day before. Now it works fine. I have no clue what caused the problem, but now the problem is resolved.

  3. Hi-

Lots of possible causes. Lots of possible solutions. The most common solution is to:
    run /autogk/vdubmod/aviproxy/proxyoff.reg file
And if that doesn't fix it, then the next time it happens work your way through this thread, trying the various solutions proposed:
