Hi,
I'm a nooB trying to encode some Quicktime .MOV files into DIVX AVIs and I cannot edit any of the parameters in the video tab. If I try to change the frame size or the bitrate or anything else I get an Applescript Error:
I'm running OS X 10.4.11 on a Quad G5 2.5 GHz with 4.5 GB RAM. My Quicktime version is 7.4.5
Please help!

At first sight this seems to be an error related to an empty (or only a space character? in a) numerical field.
The latest version (0.0.9y) has seen some AppleScript errors that previous versions didn't show. Most notably "The variable _iframeflag is not defined. (-2753)" when using the Bitrate Calculator with ffmpeg presets (but not for mencoder presets).
a. Check for empty fields (or fields with a space character) that should have a number.
If that doesn't help:
b. Try a mencoder preset.
Let us know how that turns out.
