I just built a new PC with the following:
Amd 64 x2 5200+
Asus M2N SLI Delux MB
WD 250GB SATA HDD (Capture)
WD 250GB SATAII HDD (OS + programs)
Gskill 2x1GB DDR2 800Mhz RAMM
Geforce 7300 PCIe video card
Using onboard sound
added netgear wireless network card
The capture device:
ADVC 110 and
DAC 100 (both exhibited same problem so I rule them out as the problem)
The software:
Scenalizer Live!
Windows XP pro
No antivirus installed
The problem:
White streaks appearing in video during fast motion scenes. The white streaks are noticeable during the scenalizer and windows movie maker preview windows. They also appear if I play back the avi in windows media player 9. They do not seem to appear if I play back the video in Virtual Dub or at least I have not noticed them.
What I've tried:
Used different video decks, different tapes, different cables, different capture devices, removed TBC and video switcher from the chain and connected decks directly to capture device. None of these seem to make any difference.
I'm at a loss as to what the problem could be. The white streaks do not appear in the final product when I author the video to dvd.
