Hi,
I'm currently doing some restoration work on a 16mm film clip from c1977. Some of the indoor footage is very grainy, particularly in the shadow/background areas of the image. As there isn't much detail in these areas... and they aren't in focus, I was wanting to blur out a lot of the grain. I have isolated the area using the three way color corrector, but was wondering if there was some way I could apply the gaussian blur just to this area?
Cheers,
Rob.

I don’t work much with post effects in Premiere, but can’t you just use a luma/chroma key to mask out the areas you need to blur out? And if necessary use a garbage matte to limit the keyed out area.
