Even though the subtitle stream is set to "subtitles off" in the playlist for each of the movies, and even though it works just fine in the Simulation, when the DVD is burnt the subtitles automatically play. They are also shown in the animated buttons on the menu. Has anyone had this happen or have any idea whats going on?

Subtitles can be set initially "on" or "off". But if neither is set, it depends on the player's defaults. Many players default "on".

You may be able to change the commands to explicitly off in your authoring app, but a fairly easy way to fix is to use PGCedit on the IFO files before you burn.

    See this guide for details.

In most cases it's very simple, for each title insert a new "pre" command, then edit this, choose "setSTN" and "set to none".

This won't solve my animated button problem, though, will it?

I'm using DVDit! Pro. I'm pretty sure the animated buttons render from the video files before anything else so editting the IFOs after compiling won't be much help.
