    Hey,

So I have been converting dvds that I own to xvid and was using the 640pix wide setting. I have been using a much higher bit rate (2300) than they have in there and would get a high bitrate warning ever now and then. Didn't really think about it until I saw the 720 pix wide on the top right of the program.

Question? Is using the 720 pix wide setting going to make a huge difference? I just did a test with on dvd and didn't see a visual difference (just a quick look) on my 1900 X 1200 laptop. There wasn't any file size difference??

I am just wondering (actually hoping not to have to) if I have to go back and redo all the movies that I have done.

The next question is, I am putting these Dvds into XVID format so that I can build a htpc. I would like to put the file out via my denon 5.1 reciever. Should I have checked the box that says use original ac3 audio?

    Thanks!

    Brad

You should be able to use whatever audio format that you want, as long as it is in 5.1 format. AC3 format, I believe will utilize less space.
